Myles W. Mason, PhD, (he/they) is a lecturer and course director in the Department of Communication and affiliate faculty in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Institute at Georgia State University.

As first-generation faculty, Mason holds a doctorate in Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder, a master’s degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University, and a bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, and Rhetoric from Georgia Gwinnett College. Mason was also awarded certificates of advanced study in Women’s and Gender Studies and of university teaching from Syracuse University.

Outside academia, Mason is a pet parent to a senior rescue chihuahua named Honey. (The name is ironic because she is not sweet, nor is she honey-colored.) They have attended both the Renaissance World Tour and the Cowboy Carter tour, and they have been a top 500 listener of Kelly Clarkson for (at least) three years running. They enjoy reading on their Kindle, and if anyone asks, it is absolutely not smut, only high literature. Mason has also been trying to learn French since 2024.

Giraffes are their favorite animal.
